Stanley Paul Bosse (Bosy) YARDLEY, PA Stanley Paul Bosse, 80, of Yardley, PA, died suddenly at home on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, in the loving arms of his husband, Ed. Paul Bosse was born in Lancaster, NY, a suburb of Buffalo, the son of immigrant Polish parents. He was the 13th of 15 children. Paul attended Sts. Peter and Paul Grammar School under the tutelage of the Felician Sisters in Depew, NY, and St. Mary's High School in Lancaster. Mr. Bosse received a degree in accounting from Bryant and Stratton Business Institute, Buffalo, NY, and a B.A. in business management from St. Francis College, Brooklyn, NY. Paul was a member of St. Hedwig's Polish Roman Catholic Church in Trenton, NJ; the Polish Men's Choir; the Polish-American Congress; Polish National Alliance; Pilsudski Institute of America; The Kosciuszko Foundation, and the Chicago-based Polish Museum; Trenton Polish Professional Businessmen's Club. He was also past president of the Volunteers for the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown, PA, and a founding member of the annual five-day Polish Festival at the shrine; member and past president of the Polish Arts Club of Trenton; first vice president of the American Council for Polish Culture; a member of the General Casimir Pulaski 2004 reinterment committee in Savannah, GA, and for many years a member and dancer with the Polish American Folk Dance Company of New York City. Mr. Bosse was also instrumental in raising funds for the Polish Children's Heartline and was recently on the centennial committee of St. Hedwig's Church in Trenton. He was employed for the past 20 years at Christmas Past Village in New Hope, PA. Mr. Bosse retired after 30 years with the International Harvester Company, holding the title of financial controller for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. While residing in Brussels, Belgium, and Paris, France, he was very active in the expatriate Polish communities, and was instrumental in raising funds for a new Polish Roman Catholic Church in Brussels. At that time, he made a gift of two flags--a Polish banner and a church banner--embroidered by the Polish Catholic Sisters in Warsaw. After his resirement, Mr. Bosse was executive director of the World Exchange Foundation-- a worldwide student exchange program-- and cultural consultant for Arts Development International, arranging international concert tours. He was also integral in fundraising efforts for the American Council for Polish Culture. Mr. Bosse traveled to many places around the world, travels that included taking American university student choirs on tour to European countries. In the past, Mr. Bosse was honored by the Polish Arts Club of Trenton and the Polish Businessmen's Association for his devoted work in promoting and disseminating Polish culture, history, and the arts. From the time of martial law (1981) in Poland, he assisted in resettling the newly arrived immigrants who were fleeing persecution from the Communist regime. On Oct. 9, 2001, Mr. Bosse was honored by the president of Poland, Aleksander Kwasniewski, with the Cavalier Cross of the Order of Merit, which was presented by a representative of the Polish ambassador in Savannah, GA, as part of the ceremonies rededicating the newly restored General Casimir Pulaski monument. Upon learning of the award, Mr. Bosse said, "I have very much enjoyed all the work I have done with the Polish community because sharing has always given me a positive outlook on life." On Oct. 26, 2003, Paul Bosse was honored with an award by the Slavic Heritage Council of America for his lifetime of service to Slavic culture and history. The awards were held at the parish hall of St. Stanislaw Bishop and Martyr Church in Manhattan, N.Y. Paul was the son of the late Jan and Maria Anna Makuch Bosse; brother of the late John, Joseph, Edward, Frederick, Mary Ann, Estelle, Nellie, Sophia, and Sally. He is survived by his loving husband of 14 years, Edward J. Bonner Bosse of Yardley; four brothers and their spouses, Rudolph "Rudy" and Patricia Bosse of Darien, NY; Walter and Barbara Bosse of Sanford, FL; George and Georgette Bosse of Winter Park, FL; William "Billy" and Annette Bosse of Buffalo, NY; sister and husband, Barbara and Richard Beal of Darien NY; niece, Anne Marie Noll of Lancaster, NY; many other nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces, great-grandnieces, great-grandnephews; and his dedicated, faithful Rottweiler companion, Bianca. Friends and family may pay their respects to Paul on Sunday afternoon from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Winowicz Funeral Chapel, 865 Brunswick Ave., North Trenton. Paul will be transferred, pending the massive snowstorm challenges, to the Sts. Peter and Paul R.C. Church, Depew, NY, for his Funeral Liturgy. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, Depew, at a later date.
